Electro Massage Therapy (EMT) is a perfect combination of Chinese traditional medical theory and modern bioelectricity principles. A German developed DDS machine is used to implement traditional Chinese medicine and energize meridians within the body through a trained and certified Electro Massage Technician. EMT is a drug free therapy option for people in pain that promotes the body to produce endorphins to help relieve pain similar to a TENS unit. It is safe, FDA approved and a reliable alternative means of physical therapy to acupuncture and other methods of non drug pain therapy.

Our trained and certified Electro Massage Therapist applies a Bioelectricity field through their hands directly to the body thats experiencing pain in conjunction with a specially formulated alkaline cream. EMT also aids in regulating the body’s acid-based balance. During bioelectric massage therapy, flat rubber adhesive discs (called electrodes) are applied to your skin at the prescribed areas to be treated.

The process begins with DC electrodes are hooked up to a computer that programs the precise Bioelectric current dosage required. High frequency alternating electrical currents is then applied to the electrodes. The currents move through the skin quickly with little discomfort. During Bioelectric massage treatment, your response to the electrical stimulation is measured. When the certified clinician applies the energy oil and cream during the bioelectric massage therapy, the skin absorbs most of the oil and cream to help blood circulation and ease the pain.

This sensation should not be uncomfortable; you should be comfortable and feel a relaxing, soothing pain relief. The pain reduction benefits of this therapy are immediate and usually felt over a period of 24 hours.

                      HOW EMT ELIMINATES PAIN

What does EMT do to relieve, decrease or eliminate pain? There are two theories. One of these theories is called The Gate Control Theory and is the most advanced explanation. The gate-control theory suggests that there’s a neural mechanism in spinal cord that acts as a kind of gate, shutting down or opening up the flow of signals from the periphery to the brain. Whether the gate is open, closed or partially closed depends on what sort of signal it receives from the brain to change the perception of pain in the user’s body. These frequencies interfere with the transmission of pain messages at the so spinal cord level, and help block their transmission to the brain.

Another theory is called The Endorphin Release, which suggests that electrical impulses stimulate the production of endorphins and encephalin in the body. These natural morphine-like substances block pain messages from reaching the brain, in a similar fashion to conventional drug therapy, but without the danger of dependence or other side effects.
